QuickQuote to bring embedded cargo insurance to TradeWindow’s digital trade platform

Heads of Agreement brings cargo insurance and trade technology together to simplify risk management, reduce manual administration and improve the customer experience.

Cargo insurer QuickQuote and trade technology company TradeWindow have announced a Heads of Agreement for a strategic partnership to make marine cargo insurance easier to access and manage within digital trade and logistics workflows.

The agreement will support the integration of QuickQuote’s world leading cargo insurance capability into TradeWindow’s digital trade platform, giving customers a simpler way to access cover when and where they need it.

The capability will surface in TradeWindow’s platform over the coming months.

QuickQuote Director Tim Cantlon says the agreement is aligned with the growing demand for embedded insurance options in freight and trade.

“The future of cargo insurance is inbuilt, connected and easy to access. QuickQuote enables partners to generate a quote in around 30 seconds and bind cover in around 60 seconds. Our API-friendly platform will allow TradeWindow to offer this capability directly into customer workflows, helping partners reduce duplication, save time, and improve the overall experience.”

TradeWindow CEO Dewald van Rensburg says the integration will add practical value for customers working across complex trade and logistics processes.

How does the integration work?
API integration enables cargo insurance to become part of the freight journey rather than a separate task, allowing partners to offer cover inside the digital workflow customers already use to prepare documents, manage shipments, or arrange freight.

What does the QuickQuote API integration mean for customers?

They can access cargo cover at the point they need it, without leaving the system they are already using. Existing shipment data can help streamline quoting, binding, certificates, and reporting.

How does the API reduce administration?

It cuts down repeated data entry and makes insurance a connected step in the shipment process. The result is faster access to insurance documentation and a smoother experience for exporters, freight forwarders, brokers, logistics platforms, and cargo owners.

An exporter arranging a shipment could be offered cargo cover as part of the same digital process used to prepare trade documents. A freight forwarder could use shipment information already captured in its system to generate a quote quickly, bind cover, issue certificates, and keep reporting up to date without entering the same details again.

For logistics platforms, cargo insurance can become a genuine value-added service that strengthens the customer offering, reduces the freight forwarders professional exposure and creates the potential for a new revenue stream.
